Introduction
B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is a comprehensive degree program. This discipline is designed to provide the analytical and experimental skills required for a wide variety of careers in Mechanical Engineering and also in other multi-disciplinary areas like Materials Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental pollution control, Computer sciences, Robotics, and Management. The goal of the Mechanical Engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate with educational experience in analysis, design, mathematics, modeling, computing, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. This broad and flexible programme involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. The Department offers academic programmes at two levels, i.e., Bachelor of Technology and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. It also provides a wide range of disciplinary electives and covers the majority of modern technologies. Furthermore, it has highly dedicated, competent, and well-experienced faculty members. The department also has state-of-art laboratories to provide hands-on experience and support in research activities.

1. Basics of Mechanical & Civil Engg. Lab
Basic Civil and Mechanical Engineering laboratory has conventional machine which are capable of producing intricate featured parts and components. The highlight of the basic Mechanical Engineering laboratory includes auxiliary components of I.C engine, working model of two stroke and four stroke cycle engines and sand casting equipments.
2.Mechanics Lab
Our wide gamut of Mechanics Lab Equipment’s comes in handy for demonstration and understanding of various theories of mechanical engineering. These ergonomically designed lab equipment’s are required for comprehension of principles of shear force, mechanical friction and dry friction. We would like to introduce ourselves as a growth oriented manufacturer and exporter of superior quality Mechanics Lab Equipment’s. These are also used to conduct various tests like fatigue, torsion and impact of various machinery. In addition to that, this lab equipment have key role in measuring vibration, deformation, stability, analysis of stress and strain of various industrial equipment.
3. Workshop Lab
We have the state of the art facilities in workshop lab having machine shop, Engine Lathe, Center Lathe, Carpentry shop, Fitting shop,Foundry, Fabrication shop,Welding Shop. Students have the facility to complete their projects in the workshop for vehicle manufacturing and assembling of parts.
4. Engineering Drawing Lab
Engineering drawing is a two dimensional representation of three dimensional objects. In general, it provides necessary information about the shape, size, surface quality, material, manufacturing process, etc., of the object. It is the graphic language from which a trained person can visualize objects.
5. Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Fluid Lab
Fluid Mechanics lab has the equipment needed to impart practical knowledge to the students in the essential area of Mechanical Engineering. Hydraulic Impulse and Reaction type Turbine, Centrifugal and reciprocating pumps and Flow measuring equipment are some of the example of the equipment in this lab.
6. Material Science Lab
Muffle Furnace, Inverted Metallographic, Microscope, Abrasive Cutoff Machine and PC/ Set up, ultra sonic machine for microstructure determination are some examples of typical updated equipment available in the lab to cater the knowledge of material properties.
7. Thermal Engineering Lab
In this laboratory, students will have the opportunity to study the working principle of IC engines (both SI and CI engines), performance and characteristics in terms of heat balancing, economical speed variations, air fuel ratio influence on the engine to reinforce classroom theory by having the student perform required tests, analyze subsequent data, and present the results in a professionally prepared report.
The machines and equipment used to determine experimental data include cut models of 4stroke diesel engine, 2stroke petrol engine, 4stroke and two stroke petrol engines with required specifications, Multi cylinder SI engine, Single cylinder Diesel engine for performance and speed test which is suitable to tests on variable compression ratios.
8. Machine Design Lab
To demonstrate the concepts discussed in Design of Machine Elements, Mechanical Vibrations & Dynamics of Machines courses. And also visualize and understand the development of stresses in structural members and experimental determination of stresses in members utilizing the optical method of reflected photo-elasticity.
9. Measurement and Metrology Lab
The laboratory is currently equipped for dimensional metrology instruments such as calipers, gauges and instrumentation to inspect various features e.g. linear, geometric form (roundness, flatness), geometric interrelationship (parallelism, squareness, concentricity, angular), and surface finish measurements. It is also equipped with a wide assortment of plug, ring, and snap gauges. These facilities are available for both teaching and research.
10. Manufacturing Technology Lab
This lab focuses on developing the students’ skills towards metal cutting activities, through introducing different metal cutting machines and processes. It also develops the skill of the students towards process planning, machine and process selection. The lab also focuses on machining difficult-to-cut materials using nontraditional machining processes. Also visualize and understand the various operations that can be performed in lathe, shaper, drilling, milling machines etc. and to equip with the practical knowledge required in the core industries.
11. Heat and Mass Transfer Lab
The experiments in the heat transfer laboratory help the students to understand all the 3 modes of heat transfer, namely conduction, convection and radiation practically. These experiments also pave way for inculcating certain innovative skills in the students making them to use the above experimental setups as starting point to take up higher level experimental studies in Heat Transfer.
12. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Lab
RAC (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) is one of the most important contributions of Mechanical Engineering to the present day civilization. The lab has state of the art facilities for providing the hand-on experience to the students. Knowledge of domestic refrigerators and its various components, concepts of cooling and heating systems.
13. Theory of Machine Lab
The lab has various models to demonstrate the important concepts of Kinematics of machines. Besides these, equipment necessary for providing practical understanding of the important concepts of balancing of machine parts, vibration in machine, parts, flywheel and gear drives are studied in it.
14.Strength of Materials Lab
Testing of materials for their strength under the action of external loads is studied in this lab. Knowledge of strength of Metals and nonmetals is essentials before its use in any structure and designing.
15. Internal Combustion Engine Lab
The lab has up-to-date equipment for conducting experiments in the course of internal combustion Engines. Mechanical and Automobile Engineering students are exposed essential practical aspects of the engine parts of automotive vehicles.
16. Automobile Lab
The lab has updated equipment needed for imparting practical insights in the study of Automobile Engineering. Various elements like transmission, suspension, chassis etc. are dealt with.
17. Computer Aided Drafting Lab
Computer Aided Drafting is taught using common software like AutoCAD, Creo etc. used by 1st year B.Tech. (All branches) &B.Tech. (Mechanical) in general. Here, students love to spend hours together practicing these high end software in air-conditioned computer labs.
18. Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing Lab.
Introduce the concepts of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) usingcontemporarysolid modeling software. Subject include feature-based solid, assembly and mechanism design,dimensioning and detailed drawings for documentation, and tool path generation for computer-aided manufacturing
